Get To Know Your Anxiety

In this blog post, I share the foundations of my self-healing technique to help you find the root cause of your anxiety and help to heal it. I guide you on how to identify the level of your anxiety to establish your healing path. This is a metaphysical and holistic approach to healing.

My anxiety looked like this: heart palpitations, inability to take a full breath and panic, sometimes accompanied by shaky hands. The inability to breathe brought out lots of fear in me, hence the panic and feeling that something terrible was about to happen. What a horrid feeling! My case considered mild and falls under generalised anxiety But there are several types of anxiety disorders and reaction levels are different for everyone.  You can find the types and description here.

If you, my friend, ever felt anything similar, you are definitely not alone. In fact, in 2023 in the US, 19.1% of adults had an anxiety disorder. In the UK, every week, 1 out of 6 people diagnosed with either anxiety or depression. These numbers continue to rise, especially among women and young adults. 

Across the globe, people face similar problems and experience stress levels that are much greater than what nature intended. No one is meant to experience such a high levels of stress. Our bodies and minds don’t have the capacity to handle this amounts of negative emotions.

Anxiety is a reaction to high amounts of stress. As any physical condition, anxiety comes with a message:

“It is time to take care of yourself! It is time to stop and take a mindful break from destructive cycles! ” 

Anxiety does not begin in your body. Anxiety is what we feel as a result of our unhealed experiences and what we manifest through the subconscious mind. Symptoms occur as a way to let you know to there is a bigger issue which needs your attention.

Below, I introduce you to a self-healing technique which I used to heal my anxiety and continue to use with my clients. But to apply this technique, you need to understand that healing the symptoms without healing the root cause is impossible. You can subside the physical discomfort, but you will not release the problem from your body and energy field until you take a wholesome approach. By getting to know your anxiety, you will find a path to your root cause.

The goal is to help you learn about your anxiety as well as bring attention to aspects that will need extra care in order to create resilience in you.


What is your anxiety level?

The first step is to find out the level of your anxiety. The level means depth. How deep is the trauma that causes anxious reaction?

There are five questions each related to a specific theme. Your answers will lead you on realisations about how your anxiety manifested, how deep it sits and what changes you can make to start healing.

Please note, this practice if for everyone including people with intense cases of anxiety such as panic disorders and phobia-related disorders. I also recommend to do this exersise to everyone who is following a conventional medicine only path. Everyone need to know their anxiety, it holds a lot of information about your physcial and mental health.

Get To Know Your Anxiety: Self-Healing Practice

You will need a notebook or a journal and a pen. If you like me, you may want to turn this practice into a ritual.

Allocate one hour of your day for seven days, when you can be undisturbed. Make this your sacred healing hour. This is your personal time of the day when you allow yourself to heal. It meant only for you. Make it a priority. Add it your calendar. If this sounds impossible right now, no worries. Do what you can!

When you are ready, open your journal and answer the questions below. Take your time. Don’t rush the process. Whenever you feel uncomfortable, stop, take deep belly breaths and write out your feelings. You can do it in the same journal if you like or get one dedicated to just letting go. Make this practice yours by following your intuition and doing what feels right.

I realise that the first question may be a surprise since the reason for this practice is to find the answer to this question. Some of you may already, know will have a few answers, others will have no idea. If you don’t know the root cause, ask question and pay attention to the first thing that comes to mind. It can be anything. Write it down and sit with it. Continue to ask the same question and go back in time remembering the time you felt fear, shame, loss, extreme anger, etc.
